Minnesota’s premiere paved bike trail, the Root River Trail, runs right past The Crossing for your bicycling and rollerblading enjoyment during the spring, summer, and fall. During the winter the trail is groomed for cross-country skiing. Scenic hiking and snowmobile trails begin a few blocks away. We provide free locking storage for your bikes, skis, and other equipment.

The scenic Root River, wonderful for swimming, floating, and fishing, is also only blocks away, with tube, canoe, and kayak rental just down the street.

If you enjoy golfing, we have FREE midweek passes at the beautiful Ferndale Country Club, and weekend rates are affordable.
   

Other opportunities for relaxation and recreation include sightseeing and shopping in the quaint towns along the Root River, including historic Lanesboro. We also carry the Amish Backroads Tour, a fun, informative drive-yourself CD tour that takes you to Amish shops and points of interest.
